The Ideas of Today

Today comes with a unique set of moments, experiences, feelings, states of being, thoughts and ideas which are only here for today and then gone forever.

So, if you do decide to consciously create something, to work on your art, to tune into your craft, then you also tune into this set of unique circumstances which will accompany your act of creating.

They will affect and influence what you decide to work on today.

These are the ideas of today.

They have waited for eternity to come into fruition, and now they’re here to aid you in your journey.

This is a concept I downloaded a week ago when I was helping my grandfather pick off the leaves from the basil growing in his garden. I thought about the time it took for these plants to grow their leaves. Almost like a cosmic time lapse playing in my head of the basil growing, a video my mind was imagining.

I saw the basil growing to its own natural rhythm, and then being met with my hands coming to pick them. Similar to how I would show up to my desk to write or work on an art piece. I am picking the leaves of ideas which have been brewing for some time. Now they are here for the harvesting.

Meditating on this concept helps me to trust in the ideas that come up on the day of working on something.

These ideas are here right now for a reason. They’re coming to me today for a reason. I can trust in their delivery and timing. There is a whole process that had to take place in order for these ideas to now be picked by my mind, by my hand that writes the words before me.

The state of being I find myself in and/or the state of being I create for myself will affect my artistic process.

All of these different days with different sets of ideas is like me hitting my marble statue at different angles. Like I’m walking around the artwork, looking at it from unique perspectives, and thus creating a little differently each time I engage with the work.

Just imagine that – you’re the Michaelangelo walking around your Statue of David, seeing the piece from close and far, left and right, one day to the next, then chipping away at it however you seek fit.

This helps one to embrace how they feel on the day they’re working on something. To embrace the ideas that come on the day of. Things are meant to be this way. Now, how will you channel that into the work?

Trust in the ideas that come to you today.

This includes the places you end up going and the things you end up seeing.

You’ll be out in the world and see or hear something which sparks a sense of creative inspiration for the piece you’re working on. Great – let that inspire the work.

Write down the idea you got from that little moment in time. You were meant to see it.

Maybe something unexpected comes up today which you label as a “delay”. But what you don’t see is that this thing had to happen in order for the prophecy of your work to unfold. Try to see what the universe is getting you to see.

Let all the things happen as they may. Let the chips fall where they want to fall. And co-create with the world as all these things come.

God has no faults. The only faults are those which our minds deem as faults. Make sure your identification of faults is not disempowering you. You become more powerful the more you align with the will of nature. With the will of God.

See what nature brings to you today. And work with those ideas of today.
