Listen, I know it may seem like at times that there’s no direction or point to the things we’re creating and putting so much time into, but this can happen when we focus too much on the outcome and product, and not the process itself and ultimately what we’re feeding within ourselves
You gotta realize that what you got – that emotional connection to your creative craft – is a gift. Because it’s a connection to your soul. And you can’t waste it. It’s something that will surprise you and fulfill you in ways that maybe you don’t see or expect right now. But it’s calling to you at this point in your life for a reason. It needs you. There’s something greater on the path of following your craft.
I really believe that creativity, and the source of power that we work with when we engage in our craft, is a source that’s powerful enough to change the world.
And each of our individual journeys with that source is needed. Because no one can extract the findings that you will make and share with the world as you pursue your craft. Your individual taste, style, stories, ideas, and work, that’s all you. No one else can pull that out. That’s why your craft has purpose. Don’t devalue your art to the number of accolades or awards or views it gets. Cut out all of that noise. It’s not about that. Yes, sharing your art with the world and influencing other people in spiritual ways with your work is important and necessary, but if you only view your work through the metrics of external validation then you’ll never see the true value of what you’re doing.
What you’re doing is working with a higher power that starts within, and so you’re empowering yourself. Your channeling a sacred energy and magic that we can’t even intellectualize into words or make sense of scientifically – where ideas come from, similar to how we can’t explain the science of where dreams come from
And so your journey into this craft is you being a pioneer for the human race in our collective exploration of this source. And especially in our modern technological exponential expansion, that human relationship to this source of creativity is only going to become more and more important. It’s my personal belief that no piece of man made technology can come close to the power of intuition.
And so, your craft has purpose
Again, I believe this source has the power to change the world. It already has changed the world. And intuitively I feel like it’s gonna be the indie art that does that. The art not just from Hollywood or highly highly produced projects, but from the collective creators who have something to say. It’s the artists whose work is not defined by industry standards of success, but spiritual standards of success. The work that comes from the soul and adheres to creative vision, not external noise. That’s the work that will change the world. And it doesn’t have to reach millions in order to make a difference. It can and that’s great, but art can have perfect impacts on those around you, including yourself.
The reason this work from the soul will change the world is because the more we tune into our soul, the more we tune into the truth. And it’s the truth that sets us free. We repeat the stories we tell ourselves about the world. And art has the power to retell those stories in new, profound ways. It’s the intersections between humanity, creativity, truth, and the state of the world today.
Now with all this, I’m not necessarily suggesting that your creativity needs to be something specifically revolutionary or societally important, however you define or look at those things – but I would ask you to look at your craft as a relationship. And like any relationship, it grows the more you feed it. So keep pursuing your craft and look at the things it does for you separate from preconceived outcomes and expectations. Look at how it changes you, how it connects you with yourself and others around you, how it serves as an outlet for your soul, and makes you more sensitive to what your soul calls on you to do. The more we collectively value the process and spiritual effects of art, the more art will serve as a catalyst for change and truth in our world.
And again, that change comes from us, including you. Your craft has purpose. Continue to pursue it. Remember the emotional connection, not the logical attachments or expectations. The feeling – that’s the gift. Don’t waste it.
